Kindra Care Plans

Built it. Now we keep it right.

Software rarely breaks loudly. It breaks quietly — and you find out from a customer.

Kindra Care Plans keep the systems we build running, patched, backed up and getting better. One principle, and it settles every argument before it starts.

If it’s broken, that’s on us.
If it doesn’t exist yet, that’s a job.

Broken

It doesn’t do what we built it to do. A bug, something that stopped working, something we promised that isn’t delivering.

Included. Unlimited. No charge, no argument.

New

It doesn’t exist yet. A new feature, a new screen, a new report, a new integration.

That’s a job. It comes out of your monthly changes, or we quote it.

The question is never “is this a lot of work”. It’s “did this ever work?” That’s a question with an answer, and it means we never have to negotiate.

An empty port office at 3:36am, the wall clock at 3:36, one screen glowing and nobody watching
Why this exists

Why this exists

An equipment hire business had a system that couldn’t undo a mistake.

Two wrong clicks.

3:36am.

The month approved at 3:43am.

One machine went out invoiced at zero.

$14,808 Gone. One machine. One month.

Nobody was asleep at the wheel. There was just nothing watching, and no button anyone could press to stop it.

That’s the thing about software. It doesn’t fall over in front of you. It quietly gets one number wrong, and keeps going, and you find out weeks later — usually from the customer.

Every plan

What you get, every month, on every plan

  • Hosting On our own server. Not some random’s.
  • Monitoring We watch it so you don’t have to think about it.
  • Daily backups Tested quarterly, so we know they actually restore.
  • Security patches Applied as they land, not when something goes wrong.
  • Dependency updates The unglamorous work that stops things breaking in two years.
  • Unlimited fixes If it’s broken, we fix it. However many times.
  • A monthly report What changed, what we noticed, what’s worth doing next.
The unit

New work is measured in changes, not hours

We don’t sell hours. You shouldn’t have to care how long something takes us — you should care whether it’s done. So we count shipped changes instead.

One Change = one thing we can describe in a paragraph and check in one pass.

This is one Change

  • Add a field to a screen and put it on the report
  • Change how a calculation rounds
  • A new export, or a new filter
  • Have it email someone when a job closes
  • Add a permission to a role

This gets quoted separately

  • Rebuilding how data is stored
  • Changing how money is calculated
  • Anything touching several parts of the system at once
  • A brand new integration with another system

Not sure which? Most people start on Running & Improving and move up when they find themselves wanting more than two things a month. That’s usually the honest signal.

What a care plan doesn’t cover

We’d rather you read this now than find out in month three.

  • New features and changes beyond your monthly allowance
  • Rebuilding how data is stored, or how money is calculated
  • Third-party costs — your Xero subscription, your domain, your SMS credits
  • Systems we didn’t build, unless we’ve audited them first
  • Training beyond your handover session
  • Data entry and admin — that’s a VA job, not a care plan

On that fourth one: we won’t put a fixed price on looking after code we’ve never seen. If you want us to take over someone else’s system, we’ll audit it first and then tell you what it’d cost. That’s the honest version.

  • Backed up dailyAnd we test the restore, not just the backup.

Straight answers

Questions people actually ask

“It should just work. Why am I paying?”

You are — that’s exactly why fixes are free and unlimited. What you’re paying for is that it stays patched, stays backed up, and that someone picks up the phone the day it doesn’t.

“Can’t I just call you when I need something?”

You can, and we’ll quote it. The plan exists because most owners would rather not think about it — and because a system nobody’s watching is the one that breaks quietly.

“Two changes a month doesn’t sound like many.”

It’s more than most months need. If you’re consistently wanting more, that’s a Partner conversation, and it works out cheaper than paying per change.

“What counts as an emergency?”

Three things: the system is down, the money is wrong, or the data is at risk. Everything else goes in the normal queue and gets done properly.

“How fast do you actually fix things?”

We commit to responding fast, not to shipping fast — because testing a change on a live system takes what it takes. You’ll always hear back inside your response window, and you’ll always know where it sits.

“What if I want to leave?”

Thirty days’ notice, either way. You own the code, and we hand over everything. No hostage-taking — it’s in the agreement.

Not sure what state yours is in?

Send us the system and we’ll tell you straight — what’s running well, what’s quietly at risk, and what it’d cost to look after. Even if you’d rather leave things exactly as they are, you’ll know.

See what looking after yours would cost
