A single ship moored fast at a quiet berth, deck lights on, nothing moving
Care Plans · Plan 1 of 3

Keep It Running. Nothing more, nothing less.

The plan for a system that does its job and doesn’t need to grow. We host it, watch it, back it up every day, keep it patched, and fix anything that breaks — however many times. New work isn’t included; when you want some, we quote it.

Fit

Who Keep It Running is for

  • The system is finished and you’re happy with what it does.
  • You want it hosted, backed up and patched without thinking about it.
  • You’d rather quote new work as it comes up than pay for an allowance you might not use.
  • You want one number a month and no surprises inside it.
And who it isn’t

When to pick a different plan

  • You already have a list of things you want added. Start on Running & Improving instead — two changes a month is cheaper than quoting them one at a time.
  • Your business would stop if the system stopped. That’s a Partner conversation, because the response window here is one business day.
What’s in it

What you get on Keep It Running

  • Hosting, monitoring, daily backups
  • Security and dependency updates
  • Unlimited fixes if anything breaks
  • We respond within one business day
  • Monthly health check

The principle behind every plan: if it’s broken, that’s on us; if it doesn’t exist yet, that’s a job. Broken is fixed free and without limit. New is either your monthly changes or a quote — and you’re told which before anything starts.

ResponseOne business day

We commit to responding inside a business day, not to shipping the fix inside it. A fix on a live system takes what it takes to test properly — but you’ll hear back inside the window, and you’ll always know where it sits. If something is an emergency — the system is down, the money is wrong, or the data is at risk — it goes to the front of the queue at every tier, this one included.

ChangesNone included

Keep It Running is care only. If you want something new — a field on a report, an export, an email when a job closes — tell us and we’ll quote it as a job before we start. You’ll always know whether something is a fix (free, unlimited) or a job (quoted) before any work happens. That’s the whole principle.

Term and leavingMonth to month

No fixed term. Thirty days’ notice either way. You own the code, and if you leave we hand you the lot — repository, database, hosting details. The warranty on a new build runs for 30 days from handover before the plan starts, and warranty fixes never come out of anything.

Every plan

What every Care Plan includes, Keep It Running too

  • HostingOn our own server. Not some random’s.
  • MonitoringWe watch it so you don’t have to think about it.
  • Daily backupsTested quarterly, so we know they actually restore.
  • Security patchesApplied as they land, not when something goes wrong.
  • Dependency updatesThe unglamorous work that stops things breaking in two years.
  • Unlimited fixesIf it’s broken, we fix it. However many times.
  • A monthly reportWhat changed, what we noticed, what’s worth doing next.

Three of these are the reason the plan isn’t a hostage situation: it’s hosted on our own server, backed up daily, and you own the code. Thirty days’ notice and we hand you the lot.

The ladder

Moving between plans

Moving up. If you find yourself asking for something new more than once or twice a quarter, Running & Improving usually works out cheaper than quoting each piece — and it moves you ahead in the queue.

Every plan is only offered on a system Kindra built, or one we’ve audited first. New work is quoted the way all Kindra work is quoted — in writing, before it starts. And the reason we count changes instead of hours is written up in Why we stopped selling support hours.

Straight answers

Questions about Keep It Running

“It should just work. Why am I paying?”

You are — that’s exactly why fixes are free and unlimited. What you’re paying for is that it stays patched, stays backed up, and that someone picks up the phone the day it doesn’t.

“Can’t I just call you when I need something?”

You can, and we’ll quote it. The plan exists because most owners would rather not think about it — and because a system nobody’s watching is the one that breaks quietly.

“Does this cover my Xero subscription or my domain?”

No. Third-party costs — your Xero subscription, your domain, your SMS credits — stay yours. The plan covers the system we built and the server it runs on.

“What if I want to leave?”

Thirty days’ notice, either way. You own the code, and we hand over everything. No hostage-taking — it’s in the agreement.

Not sure what state yours is in?

See what looking after yours would cost

Send us the system and we’ll tell you straight — what’s running well, what’s quietly at risk, and what it’d cost to look after on Keep It Running. Even if you’d rather leave things exactly as they are, you’ll know.
