AI consulting · Brisbane

The problem with most "AI consulting" is that the consultant sells you something

Most "AI consulting" in Brisbane right now works like this: an agency comes in, does a discovery, and recommends the exact three tools they get a reseller margin on. The advice is technically correct. The economics tell you who it's for.

What the consulting engagement actually looks like

I don't resell. I don't take vendor kickbacks. If the honest answer is "you don't need AI yet, you need a bookkeeper," that's what the report says. If it's "you need one specific custom app for one specific role and here's the fixed price," that's what the report says.

Two flavours. Pick whichever fits.

  • The Leak Check — 20 minutes on the phone. Free. You show me your current stack, your team, your bottlenecks. I write you a plain-English report with a specific recommendation. Whether you hire me for the build afterwards is your call.
  • Deeper advisory — for businesses that want an ongoing sounding board. Structured monthly review of what's working, what's leaking, what to change. Priced flat, cancellable any time.

Who this is for

  • Owner-operators who've been told they "should use AI" and want to know what that actually means for their specific business.
  • Founders who've already bought AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT Team, HubSpot AI) and can't tell if they're getting value from them.
  • Ops leaders in 10–50-person firms who want a structured second opinion before spending on a new SaaS or a new hire.

Who this is NOT for

  • Enterprises with a procurement team and a preferred-vendor list — you're better served by the big consultancies.
  • Businesses looking for the cheapest possible tool recommendation — I'm not a reseller, so I don't rank tools by whichever pays me most.
  • Anyone wanting a slide deck with "AI-powered digital transformation" in the title. Not what I do.

How the Leak Check works

Twenty minutes. Straight read either way — whether you hire me for anything after or not.

Straight answers

Before you ask.

Is the Leak Check actually free?
Yes. No hidden hook. Cost me a bit of time; costs you a bit of time. Fair trade.
What's your standard hourly rate?
I don't work hourly. Builds are fixed-price. Advisory is flat-monthly. Predictable for both sides.
Do you sign NDAs?
Happy to. Standard mutual NDA on request before we start.
What tools do you actually recommend?
Whichever ones fit. Xero for accounting almost always; MS 365 vs Google Workspace depends on the team; HighLevel vs HubSpot depends on the sales motion. Recommendations don't earn me anything either way.
